Account recovery, course access, and browser labs each have their own steps. Start with the section that matches your problem.

We reply to support email within one business day. If something will slow replies down, such as travel or a holiday, we post a notice on this page as soon as we know.

Account sign-in and recovery

Your account is your email address, and you can sign in two ways. We can email you a link that works once, or you can type the password you chose. Both are on Account.

How do sign-in links and confirmation emails work?
  • The link expires in ten minutes and works once. It only works in the browser that asked for it, so forwarding it to another device will not sign you in there.
  • The confirmation email works differently. That link opens on any device, works once, and never signs you in; it only confirms the address.
  • The email shows a short code. The page you asked from shows the same code. If they do not match, the message did not come from us, so close it and start again from Account.
  • If the link does not arrive, use your password instead. Some company mail systems hold or reject mail from a new sender, and your password does not depend on email at all.
  • If you have lost the password and the mailbox, use the Recover tab with the recovery code you saved when you created the account. A successful recovery signs out every other session and gives you a new recovery code.

RouteSwitchU cannot display a lost recovery code. Do not email a password, recovery code, sign-in link, session token, database URL, or other secret.

Course access and purchasing

Creating an account opens Python Foundations for Network Engineers, Network FDE 101, and SONiC for Cisco Engineers. The paid courses need one purchase, through Stripe Checkout, and that purchase opens every paid course we sell and every one we add later. If your account already includes them, the account page lists your courses with a Start course or Continue on this device button beside each one.

If an existing entitlement is missing, contact us from the address on the account and describe what the account page shows. Do not send your password or recovery code.

Labs and exercises

Open and run a browser lab

In a browser coding lab, read the first function's docstring, chooseRun checks or Run grader, and use the first failure as your next task. The control label depends on the exercise. The starter is supposed to fail.

RouteSwitchU supports the current desktop versions of Google Chrome and Apple Safari. Update the browser before troubleshooting an older version.

Your editable draft stays in that browser. If sign-in expires, use the sign-in link and return to the same lesson; the local draft remains available.

Use a worksheet or controller exercise

Network FDE 101, Wireline for Network Engineers, and Power for Network Engineers use worksheet fields for calculations and selections. Power also includes spreadsheet formulas. Read the supplied records, enter your responses, and choose Check responses. The feedback explains each result. No Python editor or installation is required for these worksheets.

Wireless ATC uses virtual controllers in Cisco Modeling Labs. Follow the commands and verification steps in the lesson, and compare the results with the supplied controller output. Review the course requirements before preparing the lab.

If the runner does not start

Reload once, then confirm that the same browser can open the account page. Include the lesson name, browser name and version, visible status text, and the first failed check when contacting support. Do not include your draft if it contains real customer, employer, device, credential, or network data.
